he messaged me asking me about if you and i had met
i didnt tell him what he wanted so he came to my cottage
tsurugi let him in and told him about how i made you my new chevalier
i was so cross
i still am
i went to confront him but he became violent
i warned him so many times
over and over
to leave me alone
but he didnt listen
even when he came to my home i told him to leave
i was going to eat him because he made me so angry
but tsurugi stopped me
i ended up breaking tsurugis arm by accident
jon ran away
im so upset
i just want to be left alone

[His only regret is that he was too busy at the time to watch all of this.]

Would you like me to come over to hold you awhile?

_{[She's supposed to be working a shift right now but she's far too upset to follow through with it. She just wants attention, more than anything. It feels like every action she takes, every decision she makes...it backfires in her face. Immediately.]}

_{[It doesn't take her long to make her way to where Elias is, raising a fist to knock at his door, waiting for him to answer.]}

[Of course he's already at the door and he answers. A soft smile greets her and then he actually reaches down to gather her up into his arms so he can carry her to his room while she cuddles in close to him.

He hasn't told Dorian he'll have a guest but he doesn't really plan to either.]

_{[She's not expecting to be scooped up but as soon as she is she easily finds herself grasping onto him. Tucking her face into his neck she nuzzles against it, feeling a sense of relief and security wash over her.]}

Elias...it's not fair.

Of course not.

[Closing his door behind him, he goes to his bed and sits down with his back against the headboard. That way she can continue to curl into him and he can be comfortable.]

_{[As Elias settles on his mattress she continues to cling, happy to have the security of her Chevalier's presence. It's a feeling she's been missing for over a year...now that she's forged such a bond again she can't help but revel in it.]}

I told him over and over...but he didn't listen. I broke Tsurugi's arm by accident. I feel so bad about it. He'll be okay but if it wasn't for Jon it wouldn't have happened. I just want him to leave us alone and leave you alone too...and now that he knows you're mine he's going to try to take you away.

It's alright. I will never allow him to take me away from you. I made my choice to be yours, remember?

[Gently, he strokes her hair, smiling as he listens. Here he's just twisted the story a bit about Jon being awful and then the man goes and finishes the job for him.

It's delightful.]

_{[There's another inhale and exhale, the rush of air escaping her lungs a dramatic one. She's tired and still shaken up a bit from the whole ordeal, more so thanks to the way Tsurugi had bound her and treated her in a bid to let Jon escape.

She pulls back a little bit, just enough so her wide, wet eyes can search Elias' face.]}

I didn't even really want to eat him. He would've tasted terrible...not like you. I was just upset, you know? Now he thinks I'm evil and a monster when he started it all...he's one to talk - I don't have eyes growing all over me.

Of course not. You have a beautiful face with just the right number of eyes.

[Cupping her chin, he smiles at her in that charming way of his.]

You are lovely in every way, Diva.

I don't feel very lovely Elias...

_{[There's a sniffle as she lets her gaze fall, fangs peeking out over her lip as she pouts.]}

What if he sends people after me or Tsurugi or even you? What am I to do then?

He won't. And if he does then there is no proof that anything took place. I will make sure of it.

[After all, he has quite the reach when it comes to matters of getting rid of proof.]

Oh but you know him, he'll go run his mouth to everyone I bet. He's that sort, isn't he?

_{[You're one to talk Diva...]}

People don't need proof to hurt others.

He's a touch distracted wondering if he's a terrible boyfriend. But even then others he would go to about this would focus on me and there is nothing they can do to touch me. I give you my word.

And if they do come to you? I want you to send them my way.

He probably is a terrible boyfriend. He's mean...going around judging other people's relationships. He said I can't own Tsurugi when that's exactly what Tsurugi wants. Stupid.

_{[But at least Diva can do that much. She'll send them all Elias' way. She just wants to live her life in relative peace as best she can.]}

[He plays with her hair, letting her be soothed by his presence. Far easier than her screeching, that is for certain.]

Just remember that Jon is a coward in the end. No matter what spurts of bravery he pretends to have.

_{[It's surprisingly easy to soothe Diva if one knows how to go about doing so. Elias has picked it up rather well. Leaning into his touch she tucks her head under his chin.]}

He is a coward...but I don't know if the others he'll go yapping to are.

_{[Although if Elias deals with them then it probably won't matter.]}

He's a coward who begs in such a pathetic way that he gets what he asks for in all the ways that never benefit him. In this case, he'll beg for people not to take action and they'll listen to him.

[He smiles and closes his eyes while he pets her hair.]

With his attention on me, you and your family will be safe.

_{[It feels nice to have her hair pet, the pressure of his fingertips on her scalp calming.]}

You really are willing to be a target aren't you?

_{[She sighs, deflating against him, fingers fiddling with the fabric of his shirt.]}

Maybe those he bothers will be just as spineless as he is.

A Chevalier is the shield for his Queen.

[He strokes her hair again then settles for just holding her.]

And you are my Queen now, Diva.

_{[She's quiet for a moment after that, simply staying still as he holds her in place. It's nice really, to just be held and nothing else. Physical contact and attention was something Diva craved, after all, but a lot of it usually ended in sex considering Duplicity's nature.

A minute or so passes before she's pulling back slightly, only so she can touch Elias' face with her hands, gingerly tracing his features with her index finger. The digit glides down the bridge of his nose as she fixes her gaze on his.]}

You know, I think you would get along well with Amshel. You remind me a bit of him.

Tell me more about him.

[Could he just invade her mind? Oh certainly. But sometimes it's intriguing to see what people will think to tell him all on their own without him prying.

It's fascinating.]

_{[And Diva, bless her, is like an open book, eager to sing like a canary when it comes to talking about herself and anything tangentially related. Even if Elias hadn't been already capable of breaking into her mind the mental connection was already there, due to the bond of her blood. If she wanted to she could speak with him telepathically. However, what's the fun in that? She smooths her thumbs over his cheeks, enjoying the cut of his face, the smile on her lips still soft.]}

He's the first Chevalier I ever made and one of the men who raised me in my tower. Unlike Joel though he would tend to me and speak to me, bathe me and feed me. After I was released he took me away with him and kept me safe. He was the only one who cared for me back then.

_{[Which put the man in a strange "father figure" role in Diva's life. At the bare minimum, he was her guardian; all her other Chevalier respected his position as such.]}

Over the years he built up an entire global empire, just so I could have my dream come true. The Goldsmiths became a powerful name the world over in banking and medicine. Even if I wasn't free to do as I pleased...I was never without.

_{[To put it simply, she was spoiled rotten, as if to make up for lost time. Unsurprising, when you're the center figure in what equates to the Rothschild's family.]}

He's handsome and well spoken, although he has dark hair compared to yours. You both have the same eyes though...the same look. You both look at me the same way.

_{[Which to Diva is a good thing...but in reality it isn't. Elias wasn't the first to see Diva as a means to an end, an interesting anomaly to keep around to study and watch over. That had been Amshel's M.O. from the start.]}
